Determination

He will be just as good as Tony Hawk...at least that's what he told me.

I don't even know how he knows who Tony Hawk is.

The tongue to the side is definitely a sign of extreme concentration.

And check out the sweet new hair cut.

What a stud.

We're off to celebrate his birthday and my mom's birthday tonight with family...

Happiness

Sometimes he truly makes me crazy, but this face makes it all worth while.

He had a great day yesterday!  I caught his true happy face with my camera last night.

He was shocked to get a skateboard and Call of Duty for his DS, two things I told him he couldn't have.

I love to surprise him.  :)

Happy Friday!

The Birthday Boy

As of 3:44 p.m. this afternoon, my little man is 7 years old.  I feel like it was just yesterday that he was walking around with his pluggy (pacifier) in his mouth and saying things like, "Mama, I yuv you."

Now he grows out of pants at the rate of one size up every six months.  He wakes up in the middle of the night with growing pains constantly.  He tells me, "My bones are growing."  I have a feeling I'll be looking up at him before I know it.

Bubba (as he's been known practically since birth) has quite the mix of a personality.  He is an emotional, shy, dare-devil, ants-in-his-pants kind of guy.

He is one of the most well-behaved children in his class, and he is always a star student in first grade.  He loves to climb trees and ride his bike.  One of his favorite pastimes is playing with his Nintendo DS or sneaking off somewhere to play with my iPhone.  He's not really a fan of reading at this point.  I'm working on it.  :)

I love that he tells me he's never getting married and he's going to live with me forever.  I know better.  Have you seen this kid's face?

Today we celebrated with Angry Birds cupcakes for his classroom.  As you can see, the baking project was a success!  Big thanks to The Crafting Chicks for the inspiration!

We're heading to one of his favorite places for dinner:  Chuck E. Cheese!

Happy Birthday, my Bubba Schmubba!

I love you a million times a minute.

Wednesday

After dinner last night, we had a little tic tac toe competition.

If you look at the picture below, you will notice that somebody changed that yellow O to a green X for the win.  Could the cheater be the one with those big manly hands there?  Hmmm....

When Ryan is concentrating, he sticks his tongue out ever so slightly to the side like this.  Love it.

Tomorrow is a special day around here.  Somebody will be celebrating a birthday.  So tonight I am going to be involved in a serious baking project.

I'm hoping for cupcake success, not cupcake disaster.

Check back tomorrow for the results...

Monday, Monday

Over the weekend I did 7,980,789,079 loads of laundry...approximately.

I still have more to go.

However, you can finally see my bathroom floor.  Looky there.  Pretty amazing.

A bunch of stuff had fallen behind the dryer from stacking clean unfolded clothes on top of it for weeks, but I couldn't get back there myself, so I called in some reinforcements.

Doesn't he look so delighted to help his mama?

Um, yeah, there was an empty Snapple bottle back there.  That addiction is still going strong.

When he was finished, we had a little photo shoot with my iPhone.  Trying to get this guy to stay still and smile is not easy.

I know how to make him laugh, though, and put a genuine smile on his face.  Mama knows all the funny jokes...

Aside from laundry, I did a little of this:

Speaking of Words With Friends, did you know I'm a master?  Here's some proof:

Oh, and I refilled the candy bowl.  This time with Sweet Tart gummies.  They didn't even last as long as the jelly beans.

Remember the rock I found under Jayden's pillow?  Well, she colored it to look like an Easter egg.  And all weekend long I'd find it and put it outside and she'd bring it back inside.  I'm about to take it for a little drive....

Happy Monday!!!

Random Friday

It's been two weeks since my last post.  Bad blogger.  Very bad blogger.

Part of the reason I've been MIA is this:

And this:

And this:

 And this:

And, lastly, this:

It's a never-ending battle really.  I clean one thing while the kids are destroying something else.  I clean a mess while they make 12 more.

For instance, last Sunday I was neck high in laundry.  My daughter decided it was a great idea to open up the garage at that very moment.  Usually no big deal.  Problem is, while our garage was blocked by a massive ice/snow bank during the winter, we couldn't get to the garbage that was in there to take it to the curb.  When the snow finally melted and I opened the door, I discovered that critters had been feasting on the garbage for weeks and it was all over the place in there.  When I realized what happened, I immediately shut the door and decided I'd take care of it another day.

Point of the story:  Jayden decided to move said garbage into the driveway at the precise moment I was involved in another major project, in essence creating a situation that I needed to take care of immediately.  I love shoveling rotten garbage.  Don't you?

You know what else is a problem?

This bowl of Sweet Tart jelly beans was filled yesterday at approximately 2 p.m.  I placed it right beside my computer on my desk.

This is what the bowl looks like now:

They're just so tasty...I can't help myself.

Guess what I found under Jayden's pillow last night?

Mm-hmm.  Yup.  That's a rock...more like a small boulder actually.

And she legitimately was mad at me when I told her to put it back outside.  I just don't understand sometimes...

Oh, and as I'm doing the laundry, I'm discovering that all of my kids' pants look like this now.

They have been stuck inside all winter, yet every pair of jeans has holes in both knees.

It's puzzling...and annoying.  They're down to, like, one pair of good pants each and the rest are junk.

So I guess that's all the randomness I have for this chilly Friday morning.

Have a lovely weekend!
